Edmonton played the Stars very hard last night and deserved the win so Calgary has no excuses tonight.

Calgary is in a tough spot no doubt. On paper, it doesn't look like a bad team. Watch it, you see the flaws. A shortend season doesn't help ... add in the fact Kippy is out for two more weeks and you have it rougher.

There are alot of assets here that could fetch a nice combo of young players, picks and prospects. I would see what you can get for Iggy, Kippy once he returns, Glencross, Tanguay, Stempy, JayBo and Giordano. I have no idea who would be considered "core" players absent Baertschi.

A first move might be to get the goalie of the future - send something to Ottawa for Bishop. JMO.

I think as it stands the goalie of the future is Ramo. And I sure hope they keep GlenX and Gio.

Ramo is the goalie of the future, also the team is one game under .500...yes they need to start winning now but its a little early to start trading everyone. Point standings make it look worse than it is because they haven't played the games (4 in hand on some teams)

Hey Colin! Better get used to these kind of blogs
Can you post interview with Rhett Warrener on the Fan960 yesterday. Quite the opinion on Iggy where some are slamming Warrener b ut it is really hard to argue with his points. I was looking at the Boston roster & noticed they were very very thin on RW. Also, by dumping Thomas off on the Islanders, they have like 11 mill in cap space avail. Contender, need of RW, lots of centres, I started to wonder, would they do a Marchand & their 1st for Iggy & Butler. They get a top6 scoring RW & a solid 5-6 dmen for a playoff run & Butler is cheap & also a RFA. Marchand is a centre I would love to see female dog slap Sedins 4-5 times a year

The math is aleady looking gloomy for us. If 55 pts is required to get to the dance & we have 9pts after 10 games, means we need to go .600 hockey for the remaining 38 games. Add Kipper being out for 7-call it 8 more games. Assume we over achieve & do .500 with our inexperienced goaltending, we will have to run .650 for the remaining 30 games. Raise your hand if anyone here think this version of Flames will win at that pace once Skipper comes back.

I can hear over the pa "Red Light sale at the Dome, all items on sale"

No you guys just need more time
You don't need to do anything just play out your games at hand and see what you have got. Plenty of time left in the season. Feaster's the man!

I don't know why most continue to blame Feaster and say what a bad GM he is. I guess those people just join the uneducated majority that post on this site.

Im still holding onto optomism myself...but we cant hide from the fact that its nearing 1/4 of the season and were sitting in last.

Nice thing is, theres only 6pts between us and 6th place and there are 1-2 games left to be played for the Flames comparatively.

So...

Have you ever heard his public comments regarding rebuilding? The guy paints himself into a corner all the time. As for KK well there is a beauty also. So who makes the decisions in Cow town? KK or Jay Feaster? I hope to God for you guys it is neither. Keep doing what you are doing. Who knows maybe you pull a LA with Kipper it is possible? All you need is a chip and a chair.

Well I guess in Edmonton the powers at be haven't had to make any tough decisions considering all they have had to do is look at the prospect list and pick whoever is beside #1.

Well written. Smart move by Feaster to see what he has in the prospects before he does anything drastic. Great chance for CGY to re-evaluate what they have with a rebuild on the horizon.
Side note: (frank) Rhett Warrener. Iggy is a great player and always has heart. His problem is thAT he is the only real scoring threat and teams blanket him with coverage. Cammalleri's return may help there
